I am a Naturopathic Doctor, completing my degree at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). In 2007, I graduated with honours from Wilfrid Laurier University with a BSc in Psychology. I’m a huge fan of community events and love getting involved. I was a VP of Social Programming for 2 years at CCNM, enriching the lives of students and faculty with activities, student pride, and welcoming and guiding new students. I also graduated with the honour of the Spirit Award, an award chosen by fellow peers to be given to someone who demonstrates exceptional commitment and involvement to raising school spirit by making a positive imprint on the CCNM community. My journey to becoming a Naturopathic Doctor started as soon as I heard about the College of Naturopathic Medicine while I pondered what I would do after graduating from Laurier. I had never heard of this profession prior to that, and as soon as I got the pamphlet in my hands I knew this was for me. It had described all the values about medicine that I resonated with: promoting wellness, natural preventions, getting to the root cause, and empowering the patient to heal themselves. I was also drawn to the modalities it offered, such as botanical medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, nutrition, homeopathy, physical medicine, and life-style counseling. I was awarded the good fortune of being able to follow a Naturopathic Doctor for 2 months as part of a community program which allowed me to see first hand if this was the profession for me. I knew within the first day that it was and I haven’t looked back since. As your Naturopathic Doctor, I’m interested in helping you achieve your health goals by providing you with personal, safe, and effective individualized care. I look forward to having a positive impact on the Bowmanville and surrounding community.
