Now let’s dive into the detailed discussion:-

  1. Excessive Physical Activity
  2. Smoking and Alcohol
  3. Medication Misuse
  4. Inadequate Hydration
  5. Dietary Considerations
  6. Failure to Communicate
  7. Excessive Stress
  8. Discontinuing Physical Therapy
  9. Ignoring Preoperative Instructions

Excessive Physical Activity:

Avoiding physically demanding activities, especially those that place additional strain on your spine, is crucial before having Spinal Decompression. Avoid performing high-impact exercises, hard lifting, and bending or twisting motions.

Smoking and Alcohol:

Both smoking and binge drinking might prevent your body from recovering and healing. While alcohol might influence anesthetic during the treatment and interfere with drugs, smoking decreases blood flow, which is essential for healing. It’s best to give up or cut back on these behaviours before having spinal decompression.

Medication Misuse:

It’s important to carefully adhere to your healthcare provider’s directions if you’re taking medicine for pain relief or another medical condition. Using or changing your drug regimen improperly can affect the surgery and its results. All medications you take, including over-the-counter and vitamins, should be disclosed to your healthcare physician.

Inadequate Hydration:

Water intake should be right for the healing process. Complications, a more difficult time recovering, and more discomfort might result from dehydration. Before your Spinal Decompression treatment, make sure you are getting enough water.

Dietary Considerations:

Avoid oily, spicy, or hefty foods that could cause stomach pain in the days leading up to your treatment. Instead, choose a diet that is well-balanced and simple to digest. If you are searching for the best Spinal Decompression Near Me, contact SpineWise, Canada, today.

Failure to Communicate:

Having a direct line of communication with your healthcare professional is crucial. Be sure to let them know if you have any allergies, medical issues, or recent illnesses. This information is essential to ensuring your safety and customizing the procedure to your needs.

Excessive Stress:

Your entire health may suffer as a result of stress, which could also have an impact on how well your Spinal Decompression operation works. To reduce worry in the days before the treatment, practice stress-reduction methods like meditation, deep breathing, or moderate yoga.

Discontinuing Physical Therapy:

It’s crucial to keep going to your physical therapy appointments as instructed by your therapist if you’re already receiving treatment for your spinal problem. In addition to spinal decompression, physical therapy can help with your total recovery.

Ignoring Preoperative Instructions:

Preoperative instructions related to your situation and the sort of spinal decompression you’ll receive will be given to you by your healthcare practitioner. It’s essential to carefully adhere to these guidelines to guarantee the procedure’s effectiveness and reduce complications.

Closing Words

You can increase the efficiency and safety of the process by avoiding strenuous activities, changing unhealthy habits, staying hydrated, and following your healthcare provider’s advice. To have a successful Spinal Decompression experience, remember that clear communication and a dedication to following preoperative instructions are essential. Now let’s shed light on some common misconceptions about spinal decompression, separating fact from fiction and providing clarity for those considering this therapy.

  1. Spinal Decompression is Painful and Invasive
  2. Spinal Decompression is Only for Severe Spinal Conditions
  3. Spinal Decompression Provides Instant and Permanent Relief
  4. Spinal Decompression is Expensive and Not Covered by Insurance
  5. Spinal Decompression Can Cure Any Spinal Condition
  6. Anyone Can Perform Spinal Decompression at Home

Spinal Decompression is Painful and Invasive:

One common misconception is that Spinal Decompression is a painful and invasive procedure. In reality, spinal decompression is a gentle and non-invasive treatment method. It involves specialized equipment that applies controlled traction to the spine, aiming to relieve pressure on the discs and nerves. Patients typically experience a gentle stretching sensation during treatment, with minimal or nonexistent discomfort.

Spinal Decompression is Only for Severe Spinal Conditions:

Another misconception is that Spinal Decompression Bowmanville is only suitable for individuals with severe spinal conditions. While spinal decompression can be beneficial for severe cases such as herniated discs or spinal stenosis, it is also effective for various other spinal issues, including degenerative disc disease, sciatica, and general back pain. It can be a conservative treatment option before considering more invasive procedures.

Spinal Decompression Provides Instant and Permanent Relief:

While spinal decompression can offer significant pain relief and functional improvement, it is important to understand that results may vary among individuals. Immediate relief is not guaranteed; multiple treatment sessions may be necessary to achieve long-lasting benefits.

Spinal Decompression is Expensive and Not Covered by Insurance:

There is a misconception that Spinal Decompression is an expensive treatment option not covered by insurance. In reality, the cost of spinal decompression can vary depending on factors such as location, provider, and treatment package. Moreover, some insurance plans may cover treatment costs, especially medically necessary. It is advisable to talk with your insurance provider to determine coverage options.

Spinal Decompression Can Cure Any Spinal Condition:

Spinal Decompression Bowmanville is a valuable treatment option but is not a guaranteed cure for all spinal conditions. While it can relieve pain, improve function, and promote healing, it may not fully eliminate the underlying cause of the spinal problem.

Anyone Can Perform Spinal Decompression at Home:

There is a misconception that spinal decompression can be done at home using makeshift devices or equipment. However, spinal decompression should be performed under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional or an expert Chiropractor Bowmanville.

Conclusion

Spinal Decompression is a non-invasive treatment option that offers potential benefits for individuals with various spinal conditions. You can better understand its effectiveness and suitability for different individuals by dispelling common misconceptions. Spinal Decompression is a therapeutic procedure used to relieve pressure on the spinal nerves caused by various disorders. It is part of stretching and decompressing the spine to produce negative pressure inside the intervertebral discs, encouraging nutrition and oxygen exchange and perhaps alleviating pain and enhancing mobility. You must take this treatment from any reputed  Chiropractor in Bowmanville. If you opt for Spinal Decompression Near Me in Canada, contact Dr Amit Sharda from Spine Wise to get the best Spinal Decompression Bowmanville.

But while taking this treatment, you must consider some crucial factors. Let’s look at these matters:-

  1. Medical Evaluation
  2. Diagnosis and Condition Suitability
  3. Qualified Practitioner
  4. Individual Health Factors
  5. Individualized Treatment strategy
  6. Treatment Frequency and Duration
  7. Potential Risks and Side Effects
  8. Expected Outcomes
  9. Cost and Insurance Coverage
  10. Follow-up and Maintenance

 Medical Evaluation:

Before beginning Spinal Decompression therapy, a trained healthcare expert must do a comprehensive medical evaluation to identify the specific spinal issue and determine whether spinal decompression is an appropriate treatment choice.

Diagnosis and Condition Suitability:

Spinal decompression is most typically used to treat diseases such as ruptured discs, bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, and facet joint syndrome. It is critical to assess whether your illness is eligible for spinal decompression and whether it is the best treatment for your specific case.

Qualified Practitioner:

A skilled and licensed healthcare provider with knowledge of spinal decompression procedures should administer the therapy. It could include chiropractors, physical therapists, or orthopedic specialists skilled at administering the treatment safely and effectively. If you opt for a Chiropractor Near Me in Canada, contact Dr Amit Sharda, a well-known Chiropractor Bowmanville from Spine Wise. He can offer you the best-fit Spinal Decompression Bowmanville

Individual Health Factors:

Inform the practitioner if you have any pre-existing medical conditions, previous spinal surgery, or health issues. Certain medical disorders, such as severe osteoporosis, spinal fractures, tumours, or infections, may preclude spinal decompression.

Individualized Treatment Strategy:

Because each person’s spinal condition is unique, experts will provide personalized treatment strategy to fit their needs. A one-size-fits-all approach may not be as effective as a tailored strategy.

Treatment Frequency and Duration:

Discuss with your healthcare practitioner the suggested treatment frequency and overall duration of the therapy. Spinal decompression is usually done in several sessions spread out over several weeks. Understanding the level of dedication necessary is critical for success.

Potential Risks and Side Effects:

While spinal decompression is usually seen to be safe, there are certain risks and side effects to the procedure. In some situations, they may include brief muscle soreness, a small increase in discomfort, or a worsening of current symptoms. Before commencing treatment, it is critical to understand these options.

Expected Outcomes:

Discuss with your healthcare practitioner reasonable expectations for the outcomes of spinal decompression. While it may be quite effective for some people, it may not bring total relief in all circumstances. Understanding the treatment’s potential benefits and drawbacks can allow you to make more educated judgements.

Cost and Insurance Coverage:

Inquire about the entire procedure cost and whether your health insurance covers it. Knowing the financial ramifications of spinal decompression will help you plan accordingly.

Follow-up and Maintenance:

After spinal decompression therapy, consult your healthcare professional about the appropriate follow-up care and maintenance plan. It could include regular check-ups, lifestyle changes, or workouts to maintain the long-term health of your spine.

  1. Relieves Nerve Pressure
  2. Promotes The Healing Of Chronic Back Pain
  3. Can Help Prevent Back Surgery
  4. Helps Treat Various Spinal Problems
  5. Can Offer Fast pain Relief

Relieves Nerve Pressure:

You rest comfortably on a traction table while receiving Spinal Decompression. Your spine is softly positioned properly by the gadget. Doing so relieves the pressure that forces your spinal discs out of place. The therapy thereby prevents the discs from putting pressure on the nearby nerves.

In what ways does that affect your spine? Negative pressure on your spine typically reduces pain and swelling throughout your body. Pain and numbness may radiate from your back to your legs, thighs, hips, and feet due to displaced spinal discs that pressure the nerves.

Promotes The Healing Of Chronic Back Pain:

Spinal Decompression targets the underlying source of pain, unlike some treatments that cure the symptoms. It is simpler for blood and nutrients to circulate through your spine when bulging discs draw back in.

Your body’s natural healing process is sped up by the unrestricted movement of blood, oxygen, and nutrients in your spine. The immune system helps to minimize swelling and heals damaged muscles and nerves. Your body can mend without invasive therapies like surgery with spinal decompression. If you want the best Chiropractor in Bowmanville to perform this technique, please contact Spine Wise, Canada, today.

Can Help Prevent Back Surgery:

Many people think about having back surgery when other pain therapies are ineffective. Spinal Decompression can aid in postponing or excluding surgery. The treatment reduces back discomfort; some patients report feeling better after one session. But for the best outcomes, spinal health professionals advise continuing treatment. If the nonsurgical option does not reduce your pain problems, your doctor might advise spinal decompression surgery. Please contact us today if you want the best Spinal Decompression Near Me.

Helps Treat Various Spinal Problems:

Chiropractors typically decompress your spine if you have mid to lower back discomfort. Patients with the following disorders can benefit from this technique-

  1. Bulging or herniated discs
  2. Infected, injured, or pinched spinal nerves
  3. Sciatica
  4. Posterior facet syndrome
  5. Spinal stenosis

Can Offer Fast pain Relief:

A therapy session for Spinal Decompression may last 40 to 45 minutes without any discomfort. Many people feel better after the first session, but you might need more for the best results.

More treatment sessions are required to guarantee that your spine remains in its proper position long after therapy. That offers long-lasting alleviation from the body’s chronic pain symptoms that it was previously experiencing.

Spinal decompression therapy is a non-surgical treatment method that involves using traction forces to alleviate back pain caused by compression of the spinal discs. It aims to create negative pressure within the spinal discs, which helps to retract bulging or herniated discs, reduce pressure on the nerves, and promote the body’s natural healing process.

This article provides an ultimate guide to spinal decompression therapy, including its benefits, risks, and how it works.

What Is Spinal Decompression Therapy?

Spinal decompression therapy is mechanical traction that stretches the spine to alleviate back pain and other symptoms related to spinal disc herniation, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, and other spinal conditions.

During the therapy, the patient lies on a table that can move in different directions, depending on the machine used. The therapist or machine applies traction forces to the spine, which creates negative pressure within the spinal discs.

This negative pressure helps to retract the bulging or herniated discs, reduce pressure on the nerves, and promote the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the affected area.

Benefits of Spinal Decompression Therapy

1. Pain Relief

By reducing pressure on the nerves and promoting the natural healing process of the body, spinal decompression therapy has been shown to alleviate back pain, neck pain, and sciatica.

2. Non-Surgical

Spinal decompression therapy is a non-surgical treatment method that does not involve any incisions or injections.

3. Improved Mobility

Improved mobility and flexibility can be achieved through spinal decompression therapy, which has been shown to enhance the range of motion of the spine.

4. Reduced Reliance on Medication

By reducing the need for pain medication, spinal decompression therapy can help patients avoid potential side effects and decrease the risk of addiction.

5. Minimal Risks

Spinal decompression therapy is generally safe and has minimal risks compared to surgical interventions.

Risks of Spinal Decompression Therapy

Spinal decompression therapy has few risks, and serious complications are rare. However, some patients may experience mild side effects, such as soreness, stiffness, and muscle spasms. These side effects typically resolve within a few days of treatment.

Patients with certain medical conditions, such as osteoporosis, spinal cord compression, or spinal fractures, may not be candidates for spinal decompression therapy. It is essential to consult with a qualified healthcare professional before undergoing any form of spinal decompression therapy.

How Does Spinal Decompression Therapy Work?

Spinal decompression therapy can be performed manually or with specialized machines that apply traction forces to the spine.

Manual spinal decompression therapy involves the therapist using their hands to apply traction forces to the spine. The therapist may use various techniques, such as gentle stretching, mobilization, and massage, to relieve pressure on the spinal discs and nerves.

Mechanical spinal decompression therapy involves specialized machines that apply traction forces to the spine. The patient lies on a table that can move in different directions, depending on the type of machine used. The machine applies traction forces to the spine, which creates negative pressure within the spinal discs.

The therapy can be performed in a variety of positions, such as lying on the back or stomach, or in a seated position. The therapist may also use heat or cold therapy, electrical stimulation, or ultrasound therapy to enhance the effects of spinal decompression therapy.

Key Takeaways

Spinal decompression therapy is a non-surgical treatment method that can alleviate back pain, neck pain, and other symptoms related to spinal disc herniation, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, and other spinal conditions.

The Chiropractor in Bowmanville refers to Spinal Decompression as the secret to pain-free living.

In this blog, we will explore why spinal decompression is the secret to pain-free living and how it can relieve a wide range of conditions:-

  1. Understanding Spinal Decompression
  2. Relief from Chronic Back Pain
  3. Effective for Neck Pain
  4. Enhanced Disc Healing and Regeneration
  5. Comprehensive and Individualized Care

Understanding Spinal Decompression:

Spinal decompression is a non-invasive, drug-free therapy that aims to alleviate pain and promote healing in the spine. It involves gently stretching the spine using a specialized table or device, which relieves pressure on the discs, joints, and nerves. This decompressive force creates a negative pressure within the affected area, allowing nutrients, oxygen, and healing fluids to enter the discs, aiding in their regeneration. By reducing pressure on the nervous system and improving spinal alignment, spinal decompression addresses the root cause of many painful conditions.

Relief from Chronic Back Pain:

One of the most common applications of spinal decompression is treating chronic back pain. The gentle stretching and decompression of the spine can provide significant relief, whether caused by herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, or spinal stenosis. By increasing the space between vertebrae, spinal decompression helps to alleviate pressure on pinched nerves, reducing pain and promoting natural healing. Patients often report decreased pain, improved mobility, and an enhanced quality of life after a series of spinal decompression sessions.

Effective for Neck Pain:

Neck pain is another condition that can significantly benefit from spinal decompression therapy. Chronic neck pain may arise from cervical disc bulges, muscle strains, or facet joint dysfunction. Through gentle traction, spinal decompression can relieve pressure on the neck region’s discs, joints, and nerves, reducing inflammation and restoring proper alignment. By targeting the source of the pain, spinal decompression offers a non-invasive alternative to surgery or long-term medication use.

Enhanced Disc Healing and Regeneration:

The intervertebral discs serve as shock absorbers between the vertebrae and can be a common source of pain. Spinal decompression aids disc healing and regeneration by creating an optimal environment for nutrient exchange. As the negative pressure is applied, it encourages the retraction of herniated discs. This allows bulging or protruding material to move back into place. Furthermore, increased nutrient-rich fluids flow into the discs, promoting healing, reducing inflammation, and restoring disc health.

Comprehensive and Individualized Care:

SpineWise Clinic understands that each patient is unique, and a one-size-fits-all approach is unsuitable for everyone. Regarding spinal decompression therapy, chiropractors provide personalized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each individual. By considering factors such as the severity of the condition, medical history, and lifestyle, the clinic ensures that patients receive the most effective and appropriate care for their pain management and overall well-being.

Your posture is further improved as you no longer feel the pain when sitting straight and also don’t have to slouch for comfort.

Relieve pain-related disorders:

The main aim of decompression treatment is to cure pain-related disorders of the spine and neck. This is achieved by relieving pressure on the adjacent nerves, restoring the flow of healing fluids, and reducing inflammation.

Improve your sleep quality:

When you take the help of Spinal Decompression, it pulls your spine and eases the pressure off your joints and various kinds of muscle disks. Spinal Decompression improves your overall blood circulation and allows a smooth blood flow.

Various essentials of disk positioning:

It is a recurrent and oft-neglected facet that when we are young, everything seems to be in the right order. No wonder we feel pretty healthy, and everything seems pretty easy to maintain. With age, our spines age along with our bodies and do get to wither away. Our disks tend to naturally lose elasticity, and this very condition is often turned into Degenerative disk disease. When your disks have less pressure on them, it does prove to be quite beneficial as it provides the disks a second chance to put that cushion back in your back.

Conditions that are responsible for a bulging disk:

Recent studies suggest that there could be a number of factors that can invariably cause a bulging disk. These are important factors like – poor posture, various kinds of back injuries and stress on your back. You tend to suffer from conditions such as Herniated Disks when the outer area of the disk bursts and releases fluid-like substance inside. Since the spine is part of the central nervous system, it is majorly responsible for storing your reflexes. Spinal decompression by a chiropractor is also a good way to help patients recover from back surgeries they may have undergone. The best news is, this therapy won’t hurt you while you are undergoing it. A chiropractic spinal decompression session takes approximately about 20 to 30 minutes. Your chiropractor may suggest you a duration of 4 to 6 weeks for the treatment.

Herniated discs:

These are bulging discs that can cause immense pain in your lower back. It occurs when the discs protrude beyond its natural space. Spinal decompression therapy helps to treat these herniated discs.

Degenerative disc disease:

This can happen due to natural wear and tear because of the aging process. It is a progressive disease. Spinal decompression provides more flexibility of the spine by decreasing the stiffness.

Spinal stenosis:

This problem makes the spinal canal narrow down. It causes lower body stiffness and chronic pain. Dr Amit Sharda says that spinal decompression can treat this condition by releasing tension in your spinal canal.

Facet syndrome:

This is also a problem due to advancing age. It makes the joint break down. It can also cause the spinal discs to be compressed. The spinal decompression therapy lengthens these areas of your spine. It also restores the joint functions.

The spine is one of the most important parts our body. It has three main functions:

  • Protects the spinal cord
  • Gives the body structure and support
  • Allows us to move freely

The Bones and Joints

The spine is made of 33 bones called vertebra that are stacked one above each other. There are:

  • 7 cervical vertebra in the neck
  • 12 thoracic vertebra in the middle back
  • 5 lumbar vertebra in the low back.

The sacrum is a wedged shaped bone in the pelvis made of 5 fused vertebra. The tail end of the spine (literally) we have the coccyx made of 4 fused coccygeal vertebra. The vertebra are given names based on their position in the spine. L1 is the first lumbar vertebra. There are 2 bones that have special names because of their special function. The atlas (C1) holds up the head and the axis allows the head to rotate from side to side.

Bones and Joints

Here you can see 2 vertebra stacked on top of the other. 3 joints join the vertebra to each other. The large disc in the front is like a soft cushion and provides support and absorbs pressure. The disc has a poor blood supply and receives its nutrition via sucking the nutrients from the body when you move. Behind the disc there are 2 facet joints. The facet joints guide the movement of the vertebra and have a large supply of nerves that feed your brain with information about where your spine is and how it is moving. Your brain uses this information when it is deciding how your organs should function. Some amazing research by Dr. Akio Sato has been done in this field. This is why is it is so important to maintain the normal movement of your spine. Between the facet joints and the disc is a gap called the intervertebral foramen or the IVF for short. The spinal nerves exit the spinal canal through the IVF. There are a number of bumps on each vertebra. You can see the transverse and spinouts processes in the picture. The muscles and ligaments of the spine attach to these bumps.

The Ligaments

There are a number of ligaments that cross between two vertebra. The ligaments hold the bones together while still allowing the joints to move. Some of the ligaments cross the intervetebral foramen and reduce the space the spinal nerves have to exit the spinal canal. When there is joint restriction the ligaments can rub twist and squash the nerves reducing their ability to carry healthy information from the brain to the body or the body back to the brain. With age and lack of exercise the ligaments become shorter and harder, making the joints stiffer. In the long term tight and stiff ligaments pull on the bones and produce bone spurs. Exercise and adjustments to maximize the health of the ligaments will minimize the effects of osteoarthritis in the future.

The Muscles

The Muscles

here are multiple layers of muscles in the back. Some are for supporting our spine and are called postural muscles or core muscles others are for moving our spine and are called the prime movers. The muscles are arranged in different patterns to bend our spine forwards backwards, sideways and rotate to each side. Like all muscles of the body the spinal muscles require good exercise and stretching to maintain their health and the health of your spine.

The Nerves

The spinal cord is the information superhighway between your brain and your body. Without it you could not move any part of your body and your organs could not function. It is made of millions of nerves. The spinal cord is protected by the bony spinal canal formed by the vertebra that are stacked one on top of the other. It is also protected by the duramater, a tough covering around the cord. Between the duramater and the spinal cord is the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) The CSF is important for protection of the central nervous system (CNS), which includes the brain and the spinal cord and feeds the CNS with nutrients from the blood.

The Peripheral Nerves

The spinal nerves convey information between the central nervous system and the rest of the body. The spinal nerves exit the spinal canal through each of the intervertebral foramen between each pair of vertebra. Like the tributaries of a river the small spinal nerves form larger nerves, such as the sciatic nerve, which runs down the buttock into the leg. This is how your brain controls every single cell and organ in you body. The following chart describes which spinal nerves innervate (supply) which parts of the body. You will notice that all the body parts actually receive information from more than one spinal nerve and the nerves travel a great distance to get to the organ they are supplying. This is why the actual problem in the spinal can be a long way away from you feeling the problem.

Want to Understand Chiropractic?

Then be aware of these 7 principles:

Your body is under the control of the brain and nervous system as long as you are alive.

Your brain is protected by the skull, and your spinal cord is protected by the spinal column.

Spinal bones move out of normal alignment and interrupt your normal nerve flow.

This disruption of normal nerve flow is referred to as a vertebral subluxation.

It is vital to know that subluxations can be silent; causing problems long before symptoms occur.

Chiropractors find subluxations, and by preforming a spinal adjustment, facilitate a return of normal nerve supply.

This treatment is additionally embraced for undeniable irritation, arms, or legs and includes decreasing the load to the spine.

Spinal decompression treatment is generally called Vertebral Axial Decompression (VAX-D). Earlier, real medical procedures were the main alleviation for endless lower back pain. Presently we can stay away from medical procedures by the use of spinal decompression treatment. This treatment has FDA approval for lower back afflictions. This treatment is embraced for pain in the lower back, rump, and hip with or without deadness in the foot or leg.

Spinal Decompression treatment is intended for patients experiencing back pain due to herniated disc for over about a month. Those having repeating back pain even after the back medical procedure, which is over a half-year-old, can likewise use spinal decompression treatment.

A swelling or herniated plate can cause horrendous pain in the lower back part. This can come back to the ordinary condition utilizing spinal decompression. Spinal decompression protracts the swelling disc by putting footing. This action enables the disc to retain the supplements required to mend the plate. This is finished by creating a negative weight inside the disc. In this manner, the pain and distress created by the swelling plate are wiped out.

The expense for spinal decompression treatment is just about 10% for a lumbar medical procedure, which makes it a prudent alternative. It is perfect in this way to choose spinal decompression treatment for an increasingly viable and more secure treatment, including least expense and in the least time.

Spinewise gives the most noteworthy quality consideration and administrations accessible. Many of the people suffer from many kind of pain but rather than opting for a permanent solution they decide to go for pain killers. Pain killers only curb the pain but don’t the treat the cause that is reason for the pain.Spinal decompression therapy treatment reduces the chronic pain by aligning the spinal cord to its natural position. It can be helpful in conditions like posterior facet syndromes, disc herniation and degenerative discs.
spinal decompression therapy treatment
Talking about the benefits of this therapy, it offers a permanent relief to pain as compared to traditional methods that offers a temporarily relief only. You don’t need to spend days at the hospital or therapy center. You can carry out your daily activities immediately after the therapy.
Also its a nonsurgical procedure without any complications. This treatment prevents injuries; strengthen our muscles & nerves removing the actual cause of pain. The only thing you need to take care of is that look for an experienced chiropractor in order to avoid any mishappening.

If you are experiencing a pain caused by a hernia or bulging disc, spinal decompression therapy treatment may be the recommended treatment for you. Unlike back surgery, this natural method allows you to avoid the risks and the long and painful recovery associated with more invasive procedures.

Spinal decompression therapy treatment is performed on a motorized traction decompression table. During treatment, the spine is gently stretched to relieve the pressure of the herniated and bulging discs as well as the nerves inside the spine. In addition, this treatment increases the amount of nutrients and oxygen within the affected disks, which facilitates the healing process.

Treatments may take 20-45 minutes. To get the most out of spinal decompression therapy treatment, you may have a number of treatments performed for five to seven weeks. A chiropractor can explain the process in more detail.

Disorders of the disc are not the only conditions by which a person can receive a spinal decompression. If you have any of the following symptoms, this treatment may also be for you:

    Sciatica Pain
    Degenerative discs
    Spinal stenosis
    Facet Syndrome

Numbness or pain in the extremities

In addition to spinal decompression therapy treatment, other forms of therapy such as physiotherapy or massage therapy may be recommended to relieve pain and treat your condition.

There are many factors that can cause pressure and compression on the spinal column. It can be due to back injuries or extreme physical activities mixed with gravity that leads to the narrowing of the spinal channels and cause hernia or sciatica over time. This condition of compression of the channels is known as spinal stenosis and this health condition causes bulging of the discs, excruciating pain and other concerns.

Spinal decompression therapy treatment is useful in determining the exact problems that causes back pain and helps in addressing the real point of need. Compression of the spine leads to cutting of the blood flow and nutrients in between the vertebrae. This then causes damage and deterioration as well as the pain that a person experience in his back.

Relief with Spinal Decompression Therapy

Patients undergoing spinal decompression therapy are strapped to a table where a computer controls how pressure is applied according to the areas that need treatment. But while this process is not an immediate fix for your spine issues, this will open up your vertebrae to allow blood to flow and deliver nutrients to different parts of the body. A decompression table is usually helpful in relieving back pain and restoring blood flow as well as in opposing the need for surgery.

Spinal decompression therapy is a type of nonsurgical therapy that is also very noninvasive. It is used to treat severe and chronic back pain that is a result from different types of conditions. Some of these back pains are caused because of pressure that is exerted by an expanded spinal disc to the spinal nerves.

They could also be a result of numerous arthritic issues. It turns out that there are many different health conditions that could be benefited from this type of treatment. Herniated disc

Of all the different types of conditions that spinal decompression therapy could help, a herniated disc is the most common. When the spinal disc is herniated, it exerts a lot of pressure on the spinal nerves; this health condition results in a lot of excruciating pain.

Degenerative discs

Degenerative disc disease is another common condition that requires treatment. Vertebral bodies can be compressed when there is a loss of disc height. This is caused by spinal compression. When there is too much compression, the surrounding nerves can be constricted which leads to back pain.

Spinal decompression is one of the most successful treatments for anyone suffering from back ache, especially lower back pain. This is administered by the use of traction, wherein the decompression occurs resulting from the force applied.

The decompression therapy has been used for centuries by chiropractors and practitioners of medicine. Traction could be provided manually, by using a mechanical decompression unit or through some easy to use traction devices.

What is decompression?

Decompression therapy is a form of physical therapy, and is particularly effective for relief from backache. The underlying science behind spinal decompression is creating more space between adjoining vertebrae, to correspondingly overcome any underlying conditions like a pinched nerve in the back. Bowmanville Spinal Decompression Centre has many years of experience in treating patients who are suffering from similar conditions.

Decompression therapy can work wonders for anyone who may be suffering from arthritis. The ailing joints in the spine are stretched, and this allows them to overcome effects of gravity, or even a faulty posture. Spinal decompression allows muscles and the soft tissue to stretch in ways that are almost impossible with our day to day activity and exercises.

Spinal discs, or intervertebral discs, are ring-like packs situated between the bones or vertebrae of our spinal column, protecting those bones from rubbing against each other. Each disc is made up of an outer, fibrous membrane called the annulus fibrosus, which houses the soft, inner core called the nucleus pulposus.

If you are looking for Phase I-Establishing Pain Relief treatment, you can visit our SpineWise Clinic.

When the nucleus pulposus protrudes due to a tear in the annulus fibrosus, it is termed as spinal disc herniation.Though spinal disc injury can be a result of trauma or unknown causes, disc generation as a result of aging is the major cause of this medical condition.

Activities which alter the spine’s alignment, such as sitting and lifting, can increase the internal pressure within the discs and cause damage. In most occasions, a disc herniation occurs when lifting a heavy object while the body is bent at the waist.

This treatment involves a spinal decompression table that doctors use to impute specific information related to the patient. The automated machine will then help to apply different force to different parts of the spine to help relieve the pressure. It slowly works to pull the spine, which can allow some of the disc to work back into a normal position.

effective-spinal-decompressionSpinal decompression basically creates pressure that makes the vertebrae retract in a manner that helps correctional processes in the intervertebral joints. It also enhances blood supply in the affected areas thus contributing to effective tissue regeneration.

This treatment method is therefore highly recommended for persons with chronic back pains associated with spinal stenosis. Also, patients with progressive degenerative disease and spinal disc herniation can benefit from spinal decompression. However, the facilities are most appropriate where the indications of these conditions are mild or moderate; otherwise there may be need to go for surgery.

The spine is a very important part of the body; it gives the body structure and support, and it’s also the key factor behind all body movements. This means that a malfunctioning, worn, or injured spine can impact a person’s well-being in a major way. There are many best spinal decompression therapy available in Bowmanville at SpineWise.

When the vertebrae bulges or becomes herniated, intense pain is bound to be experienced and this may call for therapy services as a corrective measure. Through a chiropractor, a patient can be provided with spinal decompression therapy to help treaty with such problems.

It can be concluded that there are a number of conditions that can be effectively treated with spinal decompression therapy. The therapy is indeed a viable alternative to surgery and medication.

Chiropractic Spinal DecompressionSpinal decompression is one alternative to back surgery, and an option that many health plans do cover. Most doctors try noninvasive options before turning to surgery. Back surgeries have a high rate of failure and lengthy recovery time and surgery comes with inherent risks. It makes sense to consider all options before turning to surgery.

Chiropractic spinal decompression treatment involves gently stretching the entire spinal column, using traction. Some other automated processes are also used at times. The goal is to relieve back and leg pain. This procedure is also called nonsurgical decompression therapy as it does not involve any use of surgery.

Chiropractors, like physiotherapists and osteopaths recommend similar spinal decompression devices. Traction or decompression is applied with a similar goal and with the same basic principles. These treatments aim to provide a healing environment for herniated, bulging or degenerating discs.

They are not risks that occur suddenly and be monitored carefully. There is insufficient evidence and no documented data that supports that spinal decompression therapy is more effective, or as effective, than less expensive and manual methods involved in treating lower back pain or injured herniated discs.

chiropractic spinal decompressionChiropractic spinal decompression treatment is designed to relieve pressure on joints, nerves, and intervertebral discs. It may be used to treat a wide range of problems, improving function and optimizing patient health. Spinal Decompression Treatment starts with a consultation with a chiropractic doctor who fully evaluates the patient with a history, and detailed musculoskeletal examination.

The patient may need imaging studies prior to commencing treatment. Once it’s clear that the patient is safe to start treatment, the individual is positioned either face up (supine) or face down (prone) on the table according to the condition being treated. At times, placing the position in one position may be more painful than another so it’s great to have the option. Get more info on Chiropractic spinal decompression treatment by consulting Spinewise expert doctors.

During the procedure, the table is stretched apart as the intermittent traction occurs. It is not continuous spinal traction, rather intermittent so as to prevent the Para spinal muscles from spasm and guarding. Disc pressure is relieved and within the disc negative pressure is created. Nutrients and oxygen and blood flow are pulled in, allowing substances for healing of damaged regions.

Spinal decompression is safe and may be beneficial for acute and chronic neck and back pain. A series of sessions are typical and may provide lasting pain relief.

Best Spinal DecompressionPeople who suffer from an injured back know the pain and difficulty it can be to live with. One of the reasons why back injuries are so devastating is because it affects your daily life. If you are back is hurting badly sometimes the only neutral position is lying flat.

Spinal decompression treatment consists of several techniques. All treatment techniques utilize several methods and different equipments are used to decompress the spine, increase space between the vertebrae to allow enough blood and oxygen to get through endlessly and to reduce the tension and pressure on the spine and disc.

Spinal decompression is recommended to people suffering from severe back pain, nerve pain and all other spine and disc diseases which can be degenerative in nature or due to postural dysfunction.

spinal-decompression-feesSpinal decompression has been an important part of my practice for some years now, and while it is a remarkably effective treatment for the vast majority of patients suffering from the symptoms of herniated and/or degenerated spinal discs, it is not an appropriate treatment for every patient with back pain.

Sadly, the financial investment involved in providing spinal decompression services appears to sometimes influence doctors to recommend it in cases where it may not be necessary or indicated. No treatment is 100% effective, but when doctors are not as discriminating as they should be in what patients they accept, the results can be far from ideal.

Even more concerning is the possibility that some patients may even get worse with this form of treatment when doctors prescribe it inappropriately for financial reasons. You can get more information about spinal decompression in Boamanville via http://www.spinewise.ca/spinal-decompression/.

Spinal Decompression Therapy is a revolutionary treatment involving intermittent traction which can help relieve, back pain, neck pain, arm and leg pain. Developed in the 1990’s, it has grown tremendously in popularity as more and more patients realize the benefits of pain relief and surgery avoidance. It is highly effective (over 80%), low cost (less than 5% the cost of surgery), FDA cleared, and very safe with an extremely low risk profile.

Herniated Disc TherapyModern lifestyles have been largely blamed for a plethora of health complaints. One of these areas is the high prevalence of back and neck pain which has pervaded society at an alarming rate.

The effect of this negative pressure is retraction of bulging or herniated discs, which cause much of the pain and irritation, into the main disc. This is what chiropractors aim to achieve during spinal decompression in Bowmanville.

If you are distress from a herniated disc, you should consider therapy as a possible remedy. A type of disc problem involves the rubbery cushion between the individual vertebrae of your spine to push out through a crack of the tougher exterior of the disc.

Symptoms usually include a numbing or tingling sensation that begins in one leg and can extend from the buttocks down to the knee. In some cases, the pain can extend from the buttocks all the method down to the ankle and even the foot. Pain can also be present in the front of the thigh, and a person can have severe and even extreme muscle spasms due to a herniated disc.

There are many types of herniated disc therapy. One form of therapy that is used by chiropractors is non-surgical spinal decompression.

Best Spinal DecompressionSpinal decompression is an advanced form of spinal traction used in the treatment of disc-related back pain and related conditions such as sciatica. Spinal Decompression therapy is an exciting modern healthcare treatment for back and neck pain due to a variety of conditions. There is a great deal of research to support the effectiveness of spinal decompression in relieving pain and symptoms.

Many doctors, clinics, marketing companies, and equipment companies really go overboard when praising the benefits of decompression though! Arrogant and over the top decompression advertisements give spinal decompression a bad reputation that it doesn’t deserve. Healthcare providers need to make sure their spinal decompression advertising and advanced traction system isn’t making promises they can’t keep.

Effective Non-surgical Treatment for Back Pain

Spinal decompression is a non-surgical traction based treatment for almost all kinds of major back pain. It is an advanced modality which constitutes a specifically designed table connected to a computer controlled workstation that can be programmed to effectively decompress structures in the spine that cause major pain and discomfort.

Spinal decompression is an FDA approved treatment. It is Safe and gentle, it quite effective in relieving chronic pain symptoms such as tingling, burning and dull sensations.

Spinal decompression has been an essential part of my practice for some years now, and while it is a remarkably effective treatment for the vast majority of patients suffering from the symptoms of herniated and/or degenerated spinal discs, it is not an appropriate treatment for every patient with back pain.

Sadly, the financial investment involved in providing spinal decompression services appears to sometimes influence doctors to recommend it in cases where it may not be necessary or indicated.Chiropractic therapy methods like spinal decompression are holistic – all natural healing. Since it is not always well understood, we will be explaining more about spinal decompression and whether it is could be an effective therapy for your case in this article. There are also many types of treatments; you can read reviews from our website.

Does this treatment work?

Spinal decompression works by gently pulling apart the nerves and discs that are compacted in the spinal column (and are therefore causing the pain.) Pinched nerves and compacted discs are some of the most common injuries involving the back and the neck, and the goal of non-surgical spinal decompression is to resolve this problem. This is accomplished via a non-surgical traction machine.

Spinal decompression is a non-surgical treatment for back pain and back conditions including herniated, bulging or degenerative discs, sciatica and spinal stenosis. Clinical studies show that this type of treatment can be highly effective in treating back pain, even after surgery has failed to relieve the back pain.

Spinal decompression is a therapy that creates negative pressure within the discs by lengthening and decompressing the spine. This negative pressure creates a vacuum that takes pressure off of pinched nerves and can also pull extruded disc material back into place and help reposition bulging discs.

If you are looking for the benefits of spinal decompression treatment in Bowmanville, visit our website. This type of treatment is not for everyone. To determine if your back problems can possibly be helped, your medical history including x-rays and MRI/CT scans are reviewed. An individual treatment program is created if it appears that you can benefit from this type of treatment.

Back surgeries have a high rate of failure and lengthy recovery time and surgery comes with inherent risks. It makes sense to consider all options before turning to surgery.

get-spinal-decompression-treatmentSpinal decompression slowly pulls the back and gradually stretches the muscles to avoid triggering a back spasm. Furthermore, Spinal decompression machines monitor the patient’s reaction to the treatment. If the body starts to tense up and resist the treatment, the spinal decompression apparatus’s sensors will reduce the pull to allow the muscles to relax.

Having the ability to sense the body’s muscle spasm response gives spinal decompression machines the ability to drastically lower the pressure on a herniated disc. It can even reverse disc pressure into the negative range, causing the bulging part of the herniated material back into the center of the disc and away from the nerves that cause so much pain. After a few routine treatments, the disc is repaired and healed, providing stabilization of the disc to prevent future bulging. Spinal decompression is a non-surgical medical treatment effective for chronic back pain. Spinal decompression therapy is operative for back pain caused by a damaged disc. In the spinal decompression process, with proper distraction and relaxation, the spinal disc is isolated and kept under negative pressure to cause a vacuum effect.

spinal-decompression-is-effective-forSpinal decompression therapy is a non-surgical treatment for chronic lower back pain caused by degenerative disc disease, herniated disc or other deformities of the disc. This treatment is also adopted for pain in the neck, arms or legs and includes dropping the load to the spine.

Spinal decompression therapy is meant for patients suffering from back pain due to herniated disc for more than four weeks. Those having recurring back pain even after back surgery, which is more than six months old, can also make use of spinal decompression therapy.

Medical investigators have supported decompression therapy as recent studies have proved it to be safer and more effective than spinal surgery. Sciatica, spondylosis, degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, soft-tissue spinal stenosis, and facet arthropathy are caused by compression of discs. Spinal decompression therapy offers the best treatment for these conditions.

introduction-to-spinal-decompressionSpinal decompression is a method used for treating back pains caused by pinched nerves. It is most commonly used for treating herniated disks and degenerative disk disease, as the ultimate goal is to take the pressure off the surrounding nerves of any damaged disks.

It can also be used to treat facet syndrome, spondylolosthesis, sciatica, and whiplash injuries, although the results are generally less effective. The spine is the chief supporter of our upper bodies. In between each vertebrae (major bone of the spine) is a spinal disk, which is surrounded by nerves. Damage or deterioration of these disks causes severe back pain because pressure is put on the spinal cord and/or spinal nerves. If you are suffering from chronic back pain, sciatica, or neck pain, you should go for painless treatments through http://www.spinewise.ca/spinal-decompression/.

The condition of spinal disks is affected by the inevitable wearing of age or by physical accidents. For instance, degenerative disk disease develops over time, although despite its name, the condition doesn’t necessarily get worse with time; furthermore, many people diagnosed with this disease reported feeling less pain over time.

Ultimately, a portion of the disk slips outside of its proper boundary and pinches the surrounding nerves. Symptoms may include numbness or sudden shocks of sharp pains that can be felt close the site of the damaged disk or even down through the legs.

If you are suffering from back pain and your doctor has advised surgical treatment, giving spinal decompression before undergoing surgery may result in the permanent relief and you are looking for, without going under the knife. Approved by the FDA for lower back ailments, decompression therapy is an advanced procedure that successfully treats herniated and bulging discs.

Patients can resume their normal life in much less time than with other types of treatments. Individuals suffering from obesity, osteoporosis or nerve problems, as well as pregnant women are not advised this therapy.

Spinal Decompression Procedure

The procedure of spinal decompression in Bowmanville involves a computer operated spinal decompression table on which the patient lies. The practitioner then stretches the affected area, with the aim of releasing pressure on the spinal joints, discs and nerves. The procedure develops a negative pressure in the affected area.

The disc gets the relief from pressure it needs to heal as this procedure promotes free transfer of nutrients, such as oxygen and water. The disc is shifted back to its base position. The patient gets relief from pain and irritation that occurred due to the bulging disc.

This mechanism ultimately results in muscle imbalances that create poor posture and may result in herniated or bulging discs that result in pinched nerves that cause back pain symptoms. Spinal decompression occurs when your body is placed in an inverted position (hence Inversion Therapy), or any stretching exercise or mechanism, that relieves the pressure on the spinal system.

The most common form of achieving self-induced spinal decompression is by using an “inversion table” at home. A lesser scaled-down back stretching program can be accomplished using the Nubax Trio decompression device.

Spinal decompression is an advanced form of spinal traction used in the treatment of disc-related back pain and related conditions such as sciatica. The primary difference between true spinal decompression and traction (and inversion) machines is that spinal decompression machines are set up to “trick” the spinal muscles into staying relaxed during treatment, allowing for greater changes in disc pressure than with regular traction, which has to fight the resistance of the muscles.

spinal-decompression-tableSpinal decompression can be done anywhere along the spine from the neck (cervical) to the lower back (lumbar). The process is performed through a surgical incision in the back (posterior). The lamina is the bone that practices the backside of the spinal canal and makes a roof over the spinal cord.

Removing the lamina and other soft tissues gives more space for the nerves and permitsit for removal of bone spurs. Depending on the amount of stenosis, one vertebra (single-level) or more (multi-level) may be involved. There are several types of decompression surgery:

Foraminotomy is the removal of bone round the neural foramen – the space between vertebrae where the nerve root exits the spinal canal. This technique is used when disc degeneration has caused the height of the foramen to collapse, resulting in a pinched nerve. It can be performed with a laminectomy or laminotomy.
Laminectomy is the removal of the whole bony lamina, a portion of the enlarged facet joints, and the thickened ligaments overlying the spinal cord and nerves.

Spinal decompression is a type of traction therapy applied to the spine in an effort to bring about numerous theoretical benefits including:

•  Create a negative intradiscal pressure to improve retraction or relocating of the herniated or bulging disc material.
•   Create a lower pressure in the disc that will affect an influx of healing nutrients and other stuff into the disc.

In nonsurgical spinal decompression treatment, the spine is stretched and relaxed alternatingly in a controlled manner. The concept is that the process creates a negative intradiscal pressure (pressure within the disc itself), which is thought to have two possible benefits:

1. Pulls the herniated or bulging disc material back into the disc.
2. Helps the passage of healing nutrients, into the disc and raises a better healing environment.

Does this treatment work?

Spinal decompression works by softly pulling apart the nerves and discs that are compressed in the spinal column (and are therefore causing the pain.) Pinched nerves and compacted discs are some of the most common injuries connecting the back and the neck, and the goal of non-surgical spinal decompression is to resolve this problem. This is skilled via a non-surgical traction machine.

The patient will be easily strapped onto a specially planned chiropractic table, and the straps will then be attached to the machine. The chiropractor will adjust the adhesion device, an exclusively computerized process that is customized for each patient, applied a very gentle type of vacuum pressure.

During therapy, the damaged nerves and discs will be separated and then reverted to their proper places in the spinal column.

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a form of alternative medical practice. It does not use any kind of drug or medical treatment. Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that your brain and spinal cord control everything in your body. When you have a misalignment in your spinal column this signal is interrupted and can sometimes cause pain.

When conducting this manual treatment chiropractors will often, but not always, concentrate on the spinal area, as this, along with the brain, houses a great deal of the nervous system so important to all aspects of our biology, movement apparatus and health.

In addition to manual treatments and manipulations, in common with many specialist health professionals today, chiropractors will often offer advice around more holistic areas of health including exercise and diet.

How do you find a right chiropractor?

You can start by getting referrals from family and friends. Ask if they can recommend a particular chiropractor they have worked with before. Other wise you can search for a chiropractor online. Visit their websites and know more about their qualifications.

You will feel relieved if you rest in an upright sitting position or if you bend forward.

A Non-surgical Solution of spinal stenosis

A Non-surgical Solution of spinal stenosis is spinal decompression therapy. Spinal decompression machines such as the VAX-D and the DRX9000 have been found to be able to correct compressed spinal canals brought on by degenerated or herniated discs.

However if the reason for the stenosis is bony spurs due to osteoarthritis, this procedure is actually contraindicated. Furthermore, in patients with accompanying osteoporosis, spinal decompression will not only aggravate the stenosis, it could even bring about fractures in vertebral bones.

Surgery is the another option to treat spinal stenosis. Surgery can successfully eliminate the pain and numbness in legs.

Spinal Stenosis

Spinal stenosis is a progressive condition that may not respond to conservative treatment. There is no cure for spinal stenosis. If non-operative conservative care does not provide relief, surgery may be required.

As a consequence, there is often back and leg discomfort, which can be made worse by standing or walking.

Common Symptoms of Spinal Stenosis

1. Sciatica pain associated with a tingling pain or numbness caused by irritation to the sciatic nerve.
2.Radiating numbness, weakness or tingling of one or both legs.
3. Neurogenic claudication or foot and leg pain resulting from certain postures.
4. Loss of balance, leading to frequent falls or difficult to walk.
5. A severe case of spinal stenosis can affect the nerves to the bladder or bowel leading to incontinence.

Since the main reason for pain in spinal stenosis will be the compression and narrowing of the particular spinal canal, pressing in around the nerves, effective chiropractic treatment would entail manipulating the spine to start the canals to allow for any natural increased blood flow and fewer pressure around the nerves. Specific spinal decompression manipulation method is employed by the skilled chiropractor to alleviate pressure on nerves and leading to tinnitus.

This problem is common in women and men age 50 years old and above due to the aging process. However, this condition also occurs in children and young people with birth defects or suffering from benign or cancerous tumors.
